Blackheath Common and Shamley Green

With splendid weather forecast, twenty of us set off from Blackheath Common car park once parking arrangements had been finalised!

As I led the walk It was great to catch up with friends and welcome new members. We made good progress reaching Chinthurst tower in less than an hour!

Having enjoyed the views of Guildford, St Martha’s Hill and the North Downs we descended from the hill to join the dismantled railway path known as the Wey South Path reaching our Lunch stop  at Bramley and Wonersh station.

After a leisurely lunch we continued along the railway path prior to walking through Shamley Green climbing the hill around Shamley Wood Estate ( which I should have declared in the walk details!)

The walk down through Darbyn’s Brook and on through Blackheath was very pleasant with us returning to the car park in good time.

Here we all enjoyed delicious home made cakes and tea, Many thanks to all who contributed.
